We are absolutely delighted to introduce you to Stephanie who is our lovely Avid Seamstress of the month for January!
Here’s a little bit about Stephanie..
“I received your email regarding Avid Seamstress of the month just as I was finishing my City Trousers! This was the first Avid Seamstress pattern I have completed and the first pair of trousers I have sewn. I was so pleased with the results that I wore them to work today. The instructions were clear, easy to follow and the tips were really useful.”
“They were made with black cotton chino twill from Cloth House. I love that store.”
“I have always enjoyed many crafts and recent years have been sewing patchwork quilts. I recently have got back into sewing clothes and have been inspired by the more interesting patterns that are available.”
“I have a basic Janome sewing machine brought for me by my parents as a present many years ago. For my 40th birthday last year my parents brought me a dressmaking dummy and then for Christmas a reconditioned overlocker. As you can see my parents are encouraging me! I recently went on a dressmaking skills course at Clothkits in Chichester which really gave me guidance on improving techniques such as zips, seams and welt pockets – don’t have a use for them yet but trying to think of something to put them in as I was quite taken by them!”
“Look forward to seeing more patterns from Avid Seamstress in the future. I have the Day Dress on my wish list!”
Stephanie your trousers are fabulous! thank you for your lovely comments and we are so glad that you enjoyed making them! You’ve won the Day Dress for being such a lovely first Avid Seamstress of the month! Lisa, The Avid Seamstress
