The beauty of the A-Line Dress is that it is suitable for a huge range of lightweight and medium weight woven fabrics such as chambray, cotton, viscose and even silk.

Ray-Stitch (UK)

Firstly, I bet you are wondering what the fabric we used for our photography is? It’s a textured cotton cloth, dyed with a deep indigo and printed on one side only.  It’s from a range called Sevenberry and is so gorgeous!

We used the Yuki Gasuri Dots but they also have other options in the same range that would look stunning in this dress. The only thing to note is that it’s only 110cm wide so you need a fair amount…

If you want something a bit softer, you could choose this beautiful silt grey laundered linen. We think the purple and grey tones are the perfect for a year round A-line Dress.

If you love sewing with linen then you are sure to love this fabric. It is a medium weight linen blended with viscose fibres. It is very breathable and so perfect for creating a swirly A-Line dress!

De Gouden Flamingo (Belgium)

WOW! Look at this colour! This is a crepe which is going to feel and fall beautifully in The A-Line Dress. Want to stand out in the crowd? With this gorgeous colour you certainly will.

Meter Meter (Denmark)

You know the feeling, you want to add a little something different to your makes but still remain understated. This organic voile from C. Pauli is just perfect.  The fabric itself is dark grey with a green tone and the dots are metallic silver.

Another gorgeous Sevenberry design – very small white dots printed on a high quality, soft base cloth cotton.

Extremely soft, Nani Iro’s double-gauze is a beautiful, lightweight, 100% cotton fabric imported from Japan. You could create the most beautiful, dreamy A-Line Dress from this fabric!
