At the centre front of the garment, fold the facing right sides together onto the main piece and sew across the hem 5cm from the bottom edge.
Turn this piece to the right side and push out the corner so that it makes a neat point but don’t push too hard as otherwise, you will end up with a rounded corner. Depending on the fabric you are using you
may need to trim away excess fabric from just inside the corner before turning to the right side.
At the bottom edge of the garment, turn up the seam allowance of 5cm and pin across the piece keeping seam allowances open and flat against each other. Sew this section with the sewing machine or, if you would prefer not to see any stitches from the right side, handstitch in place. A blind hem stitch could also be used.
