Buggy Lining explanation

We’ve had plenty of requests to explain what buggy lining is.

Essentially it means that, as shown in these two images, the front of the coat has a facing that is made out of the same fabric as your main fabric. The back of the coat has a lining that is made out of lining fabric and extends to just under the armhole.

You could make the back lining out of the main fabric too if you desired – but be careful that it doesn’t add too much bulk at the neck.

The sleeves are not lined – if you would prefer to line the sleeves you would need to adjust the pattern accordingly.
