Our sewing laboratory is perfect for you if you are new to sewing or want to perfect your skills. In this workshop Lisa will share her many years of experience covering:

  • How to read a sewing pattern
  • How to take your measurements correctly
  • Fabric – what’s the difference between selvedge, grain and bias
  • What sewing keys mean and how important they are when using sewing patterns
  • What is a Layplan and how to lay your pattern pieces correctly
  • How to pin correctly for accurate cutting
  • How to cut fabric like a pro! (you can buy the incredible scissors she uses on the night!)
  • Sewing terms demystified
  • Sewing beautiful darts

Lisa, owner of The Avid Seamstress, will be sharing lots of tips and tricks that takes years to learn & perfect. You’ll leave the workshop feeling like a sewing goddess!

Meet some new sewing friends, drink tea and eat cake!
