Loving The Day Dress and the cute dog :)

Although I enjoyed making my past two shirt dresses, I headed in a slightly different direction for my D Dress – towards a new Indie Pattern by The Avid Seamstress: the Day Dress. I bought this pattern after coming across a blog post by What Katie Sews. I used some denim-look cotton from Fabworks for £5 per metre, and only used about half of the 4m I had purchased as it was 60″ width.
I enjoyed this make, and found the instructions and photos easy to follow. There were a couple of methods, such as using elastic to gather the skirt, and the one-step sleeve insertion, that were a bit different from my previous makes, which again I quite liked.
