Thank you for all the great entries into our Avid Seamstress of the Month competition. We were delighted at how many of you are loving our patterns!

This month we had an entry all the way from Copenhagen, Denmark. Marie made a gorgeous Summer dress for her daughter Ingrid, using the Raglan Dress pattern. Bowled over by Ingrid’s cuteness in the Raglan dress, we knew we had our winner!

Thank you for making such nice patterns! This is the first one I have bought, and it has been really nice, and I am now a true fan :).

My name is Marie, and I live in Copenhagen, Denmark with my husband and our daughter Ingrid. She is now the lucky owner of a summer dress made from the Raglan Dress pattern.

When I saw this pattern – or actually all your patterns, but I had to choose – then I was so impressed with how many different dresses, you can make based on this pattern. My daughter needs dresses that she can move about in and play in, and the Raglan dress is perfect for a little girl, who is 2.5 years old, but it can also grow with her both in size and style. So I will be sewing this dress again and again – that’s a promise!

I chose a jersey for this dress, because it’s nice for her to wear, but I also had this piece of photo-printed fabric that I really wanted to use – and I think it was perfect for this summer dress. I had to shorten it a bit, and I have only put on one pocket, so it wouldn’t cover the image.

I have been sewing for many years on and off, but last year I stepped it all up and bought a new sewing machine and a new overlocker – and oh what a difference! I make a lot of clothes for Ingrid, because you can make really unique and fun children’s’ clothes. During winter I also started to make clothes for myself, which is actually quite nice :). So I think that there will be more sewing projects with my name on in the future.
