The person

We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our small team as Freelance Marketing Assistant. Working on a freelance basis, you’ll be computer savvy (with your own computer) and have lots of energy and enthusiasm.

You’ll be asked to come up with great ideas that will help increase both sales and profile of The Avid Seamstress. You’ll be responsible for building relationships with both wholesale customers and industry media contacts, so a professional but passionate manner is also crucial. Although you don’t need to know how to sew, a knowledge of the sewing industry is essential.

The most important part of this role is being an ambassador for The Avid Seamstress, living our values and sharing our love for sewing. We’ll also give you all the training you need on our brand and our patterns, allowing you to answer any questions that come through.

The role

Depending on your location, you’ll Skype or occasionally meet up with the owner of The Avid Seamstress to discuss marketing plans and share ideas.

Tasks include:
* Sourcing new wholesale customers either via telephone and/or email campaigns
* Coordinate sales and promotions, competitions and campaigns
* Research and write newsletters
* Create flyers
* Proof read sewing instruction manuals before print
* Write sewing related blog posts – Social media – Instagram, Facebook, Twitter

The role would average 2-6 hours a week and would increase depending on your availability and our need for marketing assistance. You would need to allow time during the day due to the nature of contacting wholesale customers during store hours, a key element of the role.
